The recipe for has been
passed down for three generations. Robert's Grandmother, Madeline
Hunter Steinmeyer developed the original recipe, a lemon
ice treat.
Madeline
was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She served this delicious
treat to her children for special occasions. Before Madeline
passed
away at the young age
of 98, she gave the
recipe
to her daughter, Mariam Hunter Jones.
Mariam
made the treat for Thanksgiving and Christmas as a desert served
with a small amount of White
Rum.
Enjoying
the
lemon ice treat became a family holiday tradition. Mariam,
like her mother, lived a long life to the age of 89 and enjoyed
this delicious icy treat her entire life. Perhaps
consuming brings
such pleasure to the senses that it causes one to live a longer
life. A person can’t argue with the long history of three
generations.
Robert has been making for the past 20 years, since being
given the recipe from his mother, Mariam Hunter Jones. It is
with pleasure and pride to
bring the delightful icy treat public so everyone can enjoy the
unique delicacy
Robert and
his family have enjoyed for years.
